Fire up that old phone....

Found out the part is the front band anchor (also the kickdown band).... Seems like this could be the root to all the problems with shifting....

Bad part is that it's a little further into the tranny than I've been before and I'm a little hesitant...(insert pun here)

Got into the tranny tonight.... boy has she had a rough life....

Sure enough, the front band was as loose as it could get......

Now if that wasn't enough....

3rd-4th gear accumulator should look like the diagram....

Mine had a 3 piece spring mod....

Does that have the same internals as a 46rh? If so I've still got one sitting around at home.

Ends up the dealer got the wrong spring. Try to find the right one in their system and they don't sell it separate. I'd have to buy a whole new valve body at the tune of $850.

So... to your question... Yeah, I'd love to pick up that tranny and hope that it has the same spring in it...

is the red circle the part that you found in the drain pan last time you changed the fluid?

yeppa... see the pic right before the one you posted where the band has a 1" gap.... Insert band anchor and the gap is gone...
