So instead of doing my chem homework i got a little side track and to my horror I found this: www.autoblog.com/entry...687058365/

that is ridicolous, jeep isn't a car and should never be. its bad enough they have independant suspensions now but i think jeep is really heading in the wrong direction. even if there is more of a market for grocery getters, there is a huge amount of them out there so that jeep can still keep making trucks for the niche of us that actually use them for what they are for. this is pissing me off.

well, all i have to say is it better be 4wd, if it is not then this ting is going to suck. Oh well, it doesnt look all that bad, just is depressing to see a jeep car. Marketing and sales studies rule the industries, not realy tough cool and capable 4wd's

Gives me the shivers. Looks like the concept is AWD. But I've known people who bought Cherokees with 2WD and got stuck in my yard.

I Hate that thing... i also hate reading that GM is going to be putting out another H truck. The H4 is supposed to be a direct competitor to the Jeep...supposed to be able to go topless and the whole bit. Down with H trucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahhh...WTF! It looks like they took a bunch of cars and photchopped them together: Nissan pathfinder armada (look at the top half---roof line and windows), back hatch from chrysler pacifica, Scion, Subaru, with a dash of liberty love juice thrown in to get the facial features so they can still put the word jeep on it.

New cars are just plain gay. Queer eye for the whatever guy has taken over everything. What happened to gas sucking, carbed v-8's, unsafe cars, 4 spd manuals and things that were oh wait, actually fun? No, they are gone and so are my hopes for the automotive future of the world. The concepts that come out each year are dumber than the next. You used to be able to get muffler delete from the factory, now that is badass. Now you get 50000 airbags standard on a car. New trucks are like cars, ugh dont get me started on those. Oh, I am a soccer mom that needs to drive a really confortable truck so lets put everything nice into a truck, make it totally unafordable and market it to people that cant even begin to utilize 5% of its true capability. Give me a jeep with an unsafe roll bar, lap belts and no heat and i'll take that over some retarded liberty offspring. I'm done...

Yeah it would be nice to have V8s in everything....but keep in mind with gas prices the way they are, there is no way that the market is going to go that way. There will always be vehicles out there that are V8s for the people that need them...towing, sport, ect. These new vehicles are for the people that want the feel of of larger truck/SUV, but don't need the performace of truck. So that comment about using 5% of its capability is far off from the truth, more like 90%. I pay close to $200 a month in gas, would i like to get a car to save that money, hell yes, but i need a truck to hull things around.

As for the safety side of things, there is no reason to discuss it. Why compromise your safety for anything. Yeah a roll bar doesn't seem too important out there on flat ground..head to the mountians and you'll be wishing you had more. I know that you are only making the comparison for what you would want. But a soccer mom wouldn't want to be hulling 2+ kids around in an old CJ, just not practical.
