Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to the Purdue Off-Road Club's home on the web.

The Purdue Off-Road Club (PORC) provides a community for any and all Purdue University students, faculty, staff, and alumni who enjoy the sport of "off roading." Our organization educates members on techniques and fundamentals of operating a vehicle off road, as well as various tasks on repairing and upgrading four wheel drive machines. We host various events that bring the members together to cooperate as a group such as riding trails and repairing/upgrading vehicles. Our members own a variety of vehicles from the Jeep Wrangler TJ, YJ, & CJ to Hummers, Stock & Lifted Trucks, Scouts, Dirtbikes, and Four Wheelers. Stock Vehicles are always welcome! Some members don't even own an off-road vehicle or have never experienced the sport of Four Wheel Drive before! We want everyone to be able to enjoy the sport.

The Purdue Off-Road Club promotes the "Tread Lightly!" motto, which basically teaches drivers to have respect for our Planet Earth, and to leave her as close to how we found her. Our club and our members also receive the benefit of full membership into the United Four-Wheel Drive Association as well as the Indiana Four-Wheel Drive Association.

To learn more about our organization, visit the about us page. For more information on how to join, look at our membership information.

If you're not affiliated with Purdue University and can not become an actual member, please join us on our Forums which we actively participate in and would love to see you join us there as well.

...and as always - Hail Purdue!

PORC Event Officer Elections - ME116 Thurs 7pm
Posted by 74_J10 on Sunday, August 22, 2010 (21:45:13) (40 reads)

Our first event of the year will be our officer elections. They will be held in ME116 at 7pm on Thursday Aug. 26, 2010. It is important to show up and voice your opinion on who will lead the club for the next year and determine the direction of the club. If you wish to run for a position, post up in this thread a short excerpt about yourself and why you think you'd be a good candidate. Also be prepared to say a bit about yourself at the meeting. The positions available are:
President
Vice President
Treasurer
Event Coordinator

In order to be elected to President or Treasurer you must be in good standing with the university and have been a student here last year. The other positions traditionally hold true to this also but as these are not officially recognized by the university I'm willing to entertain your case as to why we should suspend this requirement should it be necessary.

If you don't plan to run for office, please come out and voice your support and help choose the direction of the club.

PORC on the Lawn Friday April 23, 2010
Posted by 74_J10 on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 (04:29:28) (342 reads)

Our annual Spring Lawn show has been scheduled for Friday April 23rd. We have the lawn from 7am till 5pm. Bring your rig out and park on the lawn, hang out with us all day between class and get a free lunch. Pizza and drinks for lunch at 12pm (welcome to it afterwards if you have class then). We are sharing the lawn with the Grand Prix cars so there should be plenty of people around.

Rules for the show:

Show up early, once you leave you are not allowed back on the lawn. This is not a parking lot and we can't have people coming and going all day. Please get there as early as you can. If you have class at 5pm, please arrange to have your vehicle moved or move it before class. Post up if you have conflicts in the discussion thread.

No revving engines, burnouts, stacking or crawling on tires. Watch out for sprinkler heads when coming on and leaving the lawn. Don't tear up the grass.

Thanks!!

For all discussions, and to post your intentions to attend, please see this thread.
